Analysis of 3 movie trailers.

1/ Fast And Furious 7 

Genre: Action

Narrative: The storyline is basically based on a group of members who are highly trained, professional and successful. They attack a armed truck to save a kidnapped woman however in a diffrent scene at the time one of thier members get annihilated in a planned accident. Then, the whole group investigate and try to reveal the person that is behind all of this... This is a tense, action packed narrative which perfectly fits into the action genre. 

Characters: The characters are in a group which forms a really powerfull gang of members which fight to get revenge based on the death of a charcter who had very important role in the movie. The main hero: strong, fearless, brave and willing to push every limit to reveal the person responsible.

Iconography: There is tonnes of typical icongraphy of the action genre such as: A car chase, gun-shots, heavy duty weapons, explosions, drifting, drag racing, customized superior vehicles, jumping from the bridge to the edge of the car, technology and many more. These are all typical to the action genre - in link with the narrative, we can confidently say that this is a action film.

Setting: Firstly, the setting of the movie is based in a cargo plane where all of the cars of members are set to parachute out into a sandy countryside where they have a typical car chase against a armed truck. It has a iconic setting as later on in the scene there is a bridge where one of the charcters is on the edge nearly about to fall. There are clearly action sequences on roads, off bridges and in other settings that suggest action.


2/ 21 Jump Street 

Genre: Action/Comedy/Crime

Narrative: Two training cops are set on a investigation in a local college as their aim is to bust the dealers to find out information about drugs. While they are at the job they realise that if the join in with the 'cool' kids, they may lead them to the drugs but it gets turned over as the cool kids wan't them to be part of them. Although their boss had told them not to be doing drugs, alchol or anything that will cause exclution but they disobey him. This is a hilarious, action filled narrative which partly fits into all the genres such as comedy, crime&action.

Characters: The main characters are a team of two members who stick together to find the dealer. They are basically the hero's as their aim is to bust the student/teachers who are involved in this situation and the villian is a typical 'cool' college boy who lacks in focus in college but pays full attention into illegall&unpositive things.

Iconography: There are many types of typical icongraphy of the action and comedy genre such as: Vehicles blowing up, explotions, gun-shots, jokes, funny dialogs&movements, violence and the list goes on. 

Setting: This movie is mainly set in a local college as they join to find the supplier of the drugs that has been causing lives. Firstly, the two cops who are under over start off at the police department where they do months of training before they go on a real investigation undercover. There are also other series of events such as house party's and diffrent locations in the US.

3/ Paranormal Activity 5

Genre: Horror 

Narrative: A regular citizen moves into mexico city with his closest mates when he starts to experience unusual activity occuring with his neighbor who live directly down to him. After a couple of day's when he just let go of that he went and bought himself a new camera as he had a passion to take photo's. He literally took his camera everywhere and recorded every word and action him and his friends were up too. Suddenly the death of the lady happened in the hands of a man and it got caught on his camera...

Characters: The main character in this movie is the man who moves into his new apartment with his new camera as he is the victim. Also, his friends also have important roles in this movies as they accompany him on every journey he travels while experiencing terrifying activity. 

Iconography: This movie has many types pf typical horror icongraphy such as: Blood, ghosts, dead people, scary sounds, pop up's, darkness, dark atmosphere, unusual activity and so on.

Setting: This is mainly based in the activity of the main characters home including the apartments surrounding him. There are various scenes where he is out and about exploring with his new camera such as the park or just visiting local attachments.

How can you tell it fits that genre?: Because it is based on a story of a real person.
Is your chosen movie a sequel?: Well not really but the book had been released before the movie came into production.

Rating?: The public have rated this movie 8.2 out of 10 which is fantastic as anything over 7 means that this movie is worth watching. I was going through some reviews that viewers had left on IMDB.com which were mostly positive as they all enjoyed watching it.

This clearly shows and tells us that this movie is astonishing and one of s kind as the reviewer emphasised on how deep the movie was. Quote 2: " 100% amazing". This shows that the reviewer was totally satisfied with the movie and they loved watching it. "It was okay". This means that the movie was okay but they could have done a better job to mame it better. Overall the reviews are mostly positive.
